Pet Application Form
What is the purpose of licencing my dog or cat?
A current pet licence helps the City reunite lost pets with their owners as quickly as possible. It is also recommended that pets are tattooed or microchip as a form of permanent identification.
What happens if I don’t purchase a pet licence?
There is a fine in the Animal Licencing and Control bylaw of $50.00 for the first offence if your pet is unlicenced. As well, your dog or cat is required to wear its licence on a collar. A seized animal will not be released until all fees relating to its seizure are paid in full, in cash. Payment of fines will be accepted at the Blackgold Kennels with payment in cash only.
How old does my dog or cat have to be to require a licence?
Your pet must be licenced at six (6) months of age.
Where can I purchase cat and dog licences and how can I pay for them?
Cats and dogs are to be registered with the Finance department at the Civic Centre, located at #1 Alexandra Park. Payments can be made by cash, credit card, debit card or cheque.
